AD COPY MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Explore Palm Beach has a trim size of 7" in width by 9" in height.
Dimensions listed are for standard size ad copy.

  • Full and two-page spreads with bleeds observeand additional .5" of safe area at bottom.

PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

COLOR
All graphic images must be SWOP compliant. Spot colors and PMS values must be seperated into CMYK.

FONTS
Use only OpenType or Macintosh Type 1 fonts. TrueType or Multiple Master fonts not accepted. Do not apply style attributes (bold, italic, etc.) in program, use ony stylized typeface from font suitcase. Include all relevant fonts, including font suitcase, screen and printer fonts with your ad. If incorrectly submitted we will substitute with closest match.

BLEED AND SLUG
Allow .125" bleed. All Agency or Client stamps, color bars, crop, registration, lables and any marks not intended to print are to be .5" outside the trim size.

FORMAT
Explore Palm Beach utilizes an all-digital workflow. We encourgae Clients to submit digital formats only. The preferred format is PDF/X-1a:2001. Explore Palm Beach does not accept Film.

  • All image trapping must be included with your file.
  • All high-resolution images and fonts must be included.
  • Files must be right-reading, portrait mode, and 100% with no roatations.
  • Maximum dimensions, including Agency or Client stamps, color bars, crop, registrations, labels, and any marks not intended to print, for all ads is 12"x18".

NATIVE FILES
Explore Palm Beach will accept the following native formats;

    EPS- Illustrator CS3 EPS* with 8-bit color preview. If not converting text to outlines, include fonts. Include linked graphics as EPS, 300-600 DPI, CMYK.
    INDD- Version CS3*. Include all fonts. Include linked graphics as EPS, 300-600 DPI, CMYK.

*We are not responsible for errors which occur if legacy formats are supplied.

- We do not accept Quark or layered TIFF files.

- We do not accept JPG, PNG, GIF or other nonstandard print formats.

- We do not accept files created in a non-graphics program, word processor, spreadsheet, presentation packages or Office suite.

- Supplied ads failing certification are the responsibility of the Client to repair.

PROOFS*
Two (2) full-sized hard copy proofs are required. Explore Palm Beach is not responsible for color shift in files submitted without SWOP proofs. Reproduction (color matching, fonts, type reflow, etc.) not guaranteed without a proof. Client requested proofs billed additionally per proof.

DEADLINES
Explore will make every effort possible to obtain Client approval before publishing ad copy.

SUBMITTING FILES

EMAIL
Submit digital ads or ad components to Ads@ExplorePalmBeach.com. In the subject line place your business name only. If the file(s) you are submitting total greater than 20MB please use our FTP service or submit via disc.

DISC*
We accept CD/DVD-ROM. Label discs with Client/Agency name, contact name and phone number, publication and Issue, and a list of contents.

* All files, media, and proofs will be destroyed seven (7) months after last issue date unless written instructions to hold materials are received (not exceed one year from the last issue date). We will not return files, media, or proofs. Do not submit originals.
